Operation and maintenance manuals, compiled, printed and bound
Short answer: Handover documentation – operation and maintenance manuals, drawings, safety instructions and equipment documentation – is often spread across document systems, subcontractors and paper. We compile it into one delivery pack, printed and bound as binders, digitised, or both, in our own facility in Västerås, Sweden.
What goes into a handover pack
The exact content is set by your contract and the owner’s requirements. It commonly includes operation and maintenance manuals, drawings, safety instructions, test and inspection protocols and equipment documentation, usually delivered as a set of binders.
The documents often arrive from several places: document management systems, files from subcontractors, and paper. Our job is to turn that into one complete, correctly ordered delivery.
How we compile it
- Fetch the material from your document systems, or receive it as separate files.
- Print in colour or black and white, A4 and A3, including drawings.
- Scan and digitise paper documents that exist only on paper.
- Pick and sort according to your print instructions or sorting matrix.
- Structure information, and advise on which metadata may be relevant in your system.
- Build customer-specific binders and indexes.
- Pack for direct delivery to your end customer, with a contents list and labelled packages for tracking.
- Print and store in interim on larger projects, while the documents are still being produced, to shorten the lead time to final delivery.
- Check on site at our facility before dispatch, if you wish.
Printed, digital or both
Many handovers need binders for the site and a digital copy for the archive. We can deliver both from the same material. See technical binders and document digitisation.
Start early
The earlier we are involved, the better the lead time and the conditions for efficient, flexible production. Missing or incomplete information is what usually stops a handover, so we like to agree structure and format before the documents are final.
